The Fall 2011 season has brought new evolution to THE ROW. The films "The Triplets of Bellville" and "The Fantastic Mr. Fox" andthe artist Egon Schiele all served as launching points in the creation of a collection that balances between exaggerated, child-likenaiveté and a deep brooding attitude.

Fabrics play a critical role in the collection's narrative. Double-faced woolens add dimension and sheen while crepes provide texture and counterbalance the tailoring with fluidity and movement. Cashmere takes new form in lush knits that have had strips of mink woven through the yarns in order to produce a luxurious hybrid. Premier quality fox has been manipulated with an unprecedented technique, which slashes it into a grid and pushes its hairs through the skin side of the pelt to make a double-sided fur free of lining. Blue fox has been pieced together with supple leather to give the illusion of an ultra lean puffer. This quilting also appears in rubberized cotton for the warmest coat possible.

In a new collaboration with TOMS, three stories have been created for their alpargata shoe in plaid, wool/cashmere, and herringbone. Sunglasses have been updated to include burnt orange, rose, cream, and navy frames. Gaspar Gloves has created an exclusive line for THE ROW that includes python driving gloves in yellow, black, and brown as well as opera length gloves in black and brown. A selection of the gloves possess new TouchTec technology that allows wearers to utilize touch screens. Nine bags are being introduced this season: a day tote, backpack, doctor bag, classic shoulder bag, metal-framed minaudiere, feather and suede evening pouch, and the twin group, which consists of three bags-- a mini twin shoulder bag, messenger twin, and laptop twin. Each one is minimally adorned with sleek, golden hardware that preserves the discreet yet luxurious design. Materials range from the smooth, structured dark brown alligator of the minaudiere to the louche gray calf's leather of the backpack to the soft pink python of the evening pouch, but all maintain the timeless quality that has become THE ROW's signature.
